Bailey

I was contacted by Baileys owners, here is a quote from their email…

“Bailey is a 6 year old border collie schipperke mix who weighs around 30 lbs. She is a good dog, very smart and loyal and overly attached to me which has made this process hard on us both. She has a lot of energy as others of her breed tend to have and requires a lot of exercise otherwise she will destroy the house in order to entertain herself. She is house trained and has excellent recall which is good since we go to a nearby park to excercise and she runs off leash chasing tennis balls. She is very cuddly and sweet and has a lot of anxiety so she forms strong connections to those people who give her confidence and securituy. In terms of behavior towards people and animals, she is friendly towards people she meets outside although sometimes just uninterested however she is wary of strangers in her house. If the new person in her home is female she is wary but calm and accepts them quickly provided the person isn’t showing overly anxious energy. She does have a harder time accepting male strangers in her home and will be more reactive and anxious around them. It is possible for her to accept male strangers in her home but it requires a few visits and calm confident energy from the visitor. She currently lives with a cat and they cohabitate fine. They aren’t friends by any means and if anything Bailey “bullies” the cat because of her jealousy and so will stand in the cats way to keep it from approaching her favorite people. She is not the biggest fan of dogs but can also get along with them depending on the temperment of the dog. She typically tries to ignore them and if she is walking with another dog or at the park she tries to stay away and is only reactive when they invade her space and don’t leave her alone. As far as health she is very healthy and up to date on all her shots. She is spayed and on heartworm and tick prevention. We currently live in the states but are moving to Toronto Ontario”
