I have been contacted by Lucky’s owner in the hope I can help them place her. I have not met Lucky or her owners and am hoping to help them by putting her on my website. She is located in Port Perry, Ontario.
The reason provided is she is “guarding” one of her owners. In process is not allowing the second and older dog to come close to her. As a result the older dog is getting more shy and depressed. Here is an extract from the contact email….
Lucky our second dog, is a beautiful, healthy, bright and eager Border Collie who loves to play ball. She is a good dog and wants to please.
She’s not overly hyper and loves one on one time and her routine.
As a pup we made sure to expose her to our grandchildren when they were younger and she’s been well socialized as we have lots of company coming and going,
From an early age she has shown timmidness/fear to new things. We take our time to introduce her and encourage her to come and sniff etc.
She is,
-very affectionate
-very Healthy,
-was spay at just under two years old,
-is house trained and has never had an accident.
-She was crate trained as a pup but now has her bed/place which she uses happily.
-she has her own toys and never chews or destroys anything
-is fine to be left alone for periods of time.
-She’s been raised with a very large fenced yard and several ball sessions daily.
-Eats well
-we have her groomed every three to six months by professional groomer
-gets her yearly shots and vet visits regularly.
-she has NOT been exposed to cats so we don’t know how she’d react.
